Casa delle Farfalle
A visit to the Casa delle Farfalle house of butterflies is a chance to discover what biodiversity really means.
You enter a dense rainforest with tropical plants and flowers, filled with colourful flying insects and butterflies.
The tour begins with a visit to the house of insects. You can see scarab beetles, cockroaches, leaf insects, mantis, and many other fascinating insects from all over the world, alongside a beehive and a giant ants nest. Continue your visit with the house of butterflies, a botanical area which is home to many of the plants from the pine forest. In the centre of this area is the ‘Bruco’, a greenhouse which houses five species of local butterflies with the aim of reintroducing them to the region.
This huge tropical greenhouse is certain to ‘wow’ you! It feels like walking through the rainforest, surrounded by spectacular plants and butterflies from Asia, Africa and the Americas.
